A family fun game to play at "white elephant" type gift exchanges where everyone brings a gift to open. All you need is a deck of cards.
Instructions
- Have all the players choose a gift, do not unwrap them.
- Choose an "turn limit" to end the game - this could be something like, when every player has went twice or when the deck of cards has been fully used.
- Each player chooses a card one-by-one and follows the instructions on the sheet according to whichever card they drew, then discards the card to a discard pile at the end of the turn.
- If a player draws a card instructing them to open a gift they have already opened, they can draw again.
- When the "turn limit" ends, the game is over and whichever gift each player has in their ends is the one they will keep.
Jack, Queen, King Rules
Jack | Blocker Card
When a player draws this card they will keep it and use it to block ONE unwanted pass or swap of their gift. (For example, if the next card drawn was the Ace where everyone passes their gift to the left or right, the player could use their Jack/Blocker Card to not participate and keep their gift instead of passing it.) Once the card has been used once, it will be discarded to the discard pile and can't be used again.
Queen | Giver Card
The Queen/Giver Card has the same rules as the Jack/Blocker card, except that it is used to help another player instead of oneself.
King | Keeper Card
When a player draws a King, they will keep it and use it once at any time during the game to permanetely keep whichever gift they have in their posession. This move also "ends" the game for that person since they now have the gift they will keep and it cannot be swapped/passed, the rest of the players continue to play as normal.
